Schedule Variance

Time

Schedule Variance indicates how much ahead or behind schedule a project is at a specific point in time. It helps project managers adjust timelines or resources to ensure project completion on time.

Formula

Schedule Variance = (Actual progress - Planned progress) x Project duration

Example

If a 100-day project is 5% behind its planned progress, the schedule variance is -5 days.
