To-Complete Performance Index (TCPI) is a measure of the cost performance required to meet a specified management goal or Budget at Completion (BAC). It indicates the cost efficiency needed for the remainder of the project.
Formula
TCPI = (Budget at Completion (BAC) - Earned Value (EV)) / (Estimate at Completion (EAC) - Actual Cost (AC))
Example
If BAC is $100,000, EV is $40,000, EAC is $110,000, and AC is $50,000, the TCPI is 0.75, meaning the project must run at 75% of the planned cost efficiency to stay on budget.
